Kings Lynn Advanced hosted touring Australian group Genova International School of Soccer on Friday evening.

The group of U16’s are touring throughout the UK on a 20 day long trip. The group where led by Ex-Fulham professional Tyrone James who played in the 70’s & 80’s in the same Fulham side that included Bobby Moore & George Best.

The Australian group who also included 5 Canadian players had come off the back of a victory against Fulham Football Club and on their trip are still due to play Wolves, Blackburn & Man City.

Kings Lynn U16’s gave them a very tough game taking the lead in the first period with a neatly taken goal from Liam Cox. Kings Lynn had the chance to extend the lead through Joshua Winner but his shot was straight at the opposing goal keeper.

The second period saw both teams create chances as well as defend well. The period ended 2-2 with Joshua Winner scoring with a powerful header from a corner. GISS’ equalising goal was curtesy of a wicked deflection which gave home keeper AJ Jarvis little chance of keeping the ball out.

In the final 30 mins the Australians looked to get on top, but there was still chances for either side to pinch a lead. It was GISS who took the chance in this evenly fought game where both sides had spells on top.

FINAL SCORE:
Kings Lynn Advanced 2
GISS 3

Well done to the U16 squad and we wish GISS well on the rest of their UK tour
