The Kings Lynn Community Football Programme evolved in 2002 from the collaboration
of Kings Lynn Football Club, King Edward VII Sports College and The College Of West
Anglia. This was in response to the lack of structure and direction for youth football
in the West-Norfolk area.
Since this time the scheme has grown to such an extent
that there is now six regions that make up the programme that are able to offer children
of all genders and abilities the opportunity to develop their footballing ability,
knowledge and social skills.
The scheme is able to offer a wide range of footbaling
and non-footballing activities on a weekly basis catering for over 900 children weekly.
This includes school initiatives such as In-school Curriculum sessions, lunchtime clubs, after school clubs and sponsorship days.
Outside of this the scheme runs Player Development Centres in 5 of the areas that make up the region as well as running Advanced Football Squads at u9’s-u16’s boys and u12’s and u14’s girls. The scheme has 9 full-time staff members and over 20 part-time and voluntary staff.
