Advanced Football Squads Kings Lynn Community Football runs an Elite football program for advanced footballers. We currently run squads from U8’s, U9’s, U10’s, U11’s, U12’s, U13’s, U14’s, U15’s & U16’s (Sept 2011). All Advanced players are present on invitation only. There are currently 120 players that represent the Elite Programme.
Squads are formed every September through open trials, this is an opportunity for anyone to come and try out. Year on year we are building stronger squads with developments made on the current players and new additions that capture throughout the season.
All advanced players will be able to continue there commitment with there school and junior football club whilst getting additional structured coaching and elite football fixtures.Players come through the program as developed footballers as well as disciplined young adults, players that use the program to there advantage can earn successful opportunities within professional clubs and progress further. All players leaving the program at 16yrs old will have the abilities and attributes needed to move into senior football clubs, to continue successful and enjoyable careers in football.The Program offers clearly defined progression routes for players aged U7 through to senior, semi-pro and professional football including college football academies in Norfolk and football scholarships in the USA.
Training Commitments: All squads train twice a week Under the Guidance of UEFA B Licensed Coaches. All Advanced players work hard on there single ball motor skills, touches, turns and skills to help build a confidence with the ball at there feet. Moving on from this, players will also become very comfortable at using the ball within the game. Sessions also aim to give players an understanding of the shapes within a game and an understanding of how to play within positions. Training runs during school term time from Oct – July. During school holidays games will be arranged along with other events such as ‘Elite Training Days’ where ex-professional players come in to give the players some coaching and guidance about there careers.
Elite Fixture Program: Each squad will compete in elite football fixtures mainly during school holidays; these are used as assessment games to see how each player has developed. We do not run any squads in a league program. Each squad will benefit from a minimum of 8 fixtures over the season against opposition such as Norwich City Academy, Boston United Centre of Excellence, Kettering FDS, Cambridge United, York City, Newport County, Histon FC, Kettering Town FC, Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Dereham Town, Swaffham Town, Wisbech Town as well as Welsh sides TNS and Rhyll FC. (These teams where part our fixtures calendar for the season 2010/2011.) This gives us a variety of games against professional set-ups along with more local senior football clubs.
Elite Football Tours: Every year Kings Lynn Advanced Footballers go on tour to compete in fixtures against other elite football set ups and feeder teams to professional clubs, tour professional football stadiums, gain access into professional academies which include taking part in sessions run by academy coaches, watch live premier league, Serie A and La Liga fixtures. Previous Tours have included professional clubs such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona, Juventus, Torino, Milan, Rhyll FC and TNS.
